I have been working on my book, was completely overwhelmed. It seemed like such a daunting task. I faced a block, felt jammed. During a conversation with a friend, I realised I needed to write for the pure joy of writing as I was doing earlier without any expectation from my self. Without me judging myself. This led me to start this practise of writing a little every day expecting no one to read and not allowing myself to judge the quality of writing. As I started doing that, I realised more and more cohesive thoughts flowing out of me organically.
If we could do the same at work. Imagine the level of performance you can expect from yourself. Let their be performance reviews, goal setting, planning and evaluations on the outside, but carve out a share of time and space for yourself to be judgement free, mainly from yourself.
After all, we are just a heap of beliefs that shrouds our pure light and brilliance. The journey of life is a navigation of finding more and more of that real you through the beliefs. The expectations spring out of the beliefs and burden you, nothing more. It is that deep desire that makes you successful. This expectation is mistaken for righteousness and the right thing to do for success quite mistakenly.
This is easier said than done. That is the reason why people employ Executive Coaches. A Coach can help you see through your own stories. Stories that you weave giving you temporary relief but keeping you away from seeing your own greatness.
