Most high achievers have certain traits in common.They are extremely driven, intelligent and they work very hard. Of course there are many other qualities but these are almost always present.
Very often what really drives high achievers at a very deep level is a fear of failure. They fire on all cylinders in all directions often. One can argue, “So what ?” if it produces results and leads to them being successful. And it is fine for a period of time. But such people often reach a point in their lives as years go by where they feel this drain of energy. This incapacitates them from going to the next level which is expected of them due to the experience and success they have already achieved.
How many times have we heard people say, I feel like I am more productive when I am anxious. They often ignore other aspects of their life and then they wear their guilt on their sleeve as a badge of honor. Of course this is a small aspect of the fear of failure also called “Atychiphobia”. Fear of failure also causes people to be on the other side and not try or do things at all. But that is not what we are talking about here. That aspect is known and widely discussed and is at a more surface level.
The question is how does one deal with this.
- One key thing I would like to point out is to look at detaching the anxiousness of the outcome to the outcome itself.
- Self awareness by looking deeper at this fear to make your self more comfortable with it and understand it better.
- Routine of self care to be mindful when you naturally fall into that pattern due to past conditioning and habit.
- The only emotions that you need to feel proud of are love, gratitude and kindness. All others need deeper looking into and are arousing from a belief system.
